Benefit concert for cancer patients moved to November 14

Relay For Life, the benefit concert/event for cancer patients, is now moved to next month, November 14.

I am still selling tickets. For those interested, please just inform me. Again, I would like to mention that 100% of ticket sales will go to cancer patients through Philippine Cancer Society.

AGNUS PRESS RELEASES FIRST BOOK BY VETERAN BIKOL POET . Prize-winning writer and Ford Foundation scholar H. Francisco V. Peñones will finally launch his first-ever title. Under a new Publishing Firm, the Agnus Press, RAGANG RINARANGA will showcase 52 Iriganon poems along with their English translations. . Also a distinguished visual and performance artist, Peñones was a UP National Writers Workshop fellow for Bikol poetry. His works have appeared in Asiaweek, Ani, Mantala, HomeLife, Hingowa, Bangraw, Salugsog sa Sulog and other important publications and journals. He runs a column for the Bikol Reporter and edits its Bikol poetry section. He has won the Pedro Sabido Award for Creative Writing, Sumagang Award, Catholic Mass Media Award and the Premio Tomas Arejola para sa Literaturang Bikolnon. . SARIKAW AT IRAGO

Ang Sarikaw ay isang monolith na korteng tao na may kasamang aso. Tinatayang sampung talampakan ang laki nito. Hindi ko ito nagawang puntahan nang umuwi ako sa Iriga. Dalawang araw lang kasi akong namalagi roon at nawalan na ng panahon para puntahan ito dahil hindi naging sapat ang oras ko para kumustahin ang mga kamag-anak at ilang mga kaibigan. Isa ring dahilan ang pagbawal sa 'kin ng nanay ko na pumunta doon gawa ng mga naglipanang tulisan sa lugar na 'yun. . Sinasabing isang mangangaso ang Sarikaw na sinumpang maging bato ng isang wizard dahil sa hinamon niya ang kakahayan nito. Wala na akong ibang alam tungkol dito bukod sa ginawa pa naman itong tourist attraction sa Iriga. . Matagal na akong binibihag ng ideya ng Sarikaw, kung ano nga ba ang hitsura nito (dahil nakita ko lang ito sa litrato) at kung ano nga ba ang tunay na kuwento tungkol dito.
